You Bet I Do

First affair I did years agone when I bought my D70s was supervene upon the eyepiece with a Nikon 2939 (now discontinued) eyecup, which I transferred to my D200 when I bought information technology and sold the D70s. I have two spare 2939s still in the original packaging. If you wear glasses, a condom eye cup is a must, and even if yous don't the eyecup blocks stray light and makes the viewfinder that much more than exacting.
Search the forums, because depending on the camera body, y'all might need an boosted viewfinder/retaining band in which to adhere the eyecup.

Is it? I'm a 4eyes, and I don't use middle cups on my cameras'
Depending on the model (camera and eyecup) it can be fifty-fifty hard to meet the whole epitome in your viewfinder (and info) when using one.

Thats' indeed very wise to do, including if it may give problems when wearing spectacles.

Yes, wouldn't be without it because....

I vesture spectacles which i was otherwise billowy off the back of the viewfinder, and sometimes struggling for a second to settle into the perfect viewing position twixt center and viewfinder.
I utilise the Hoodman H-EYEN22S which allows me to describe the viewfinder quickly and comfortably to my eye and naturally settles my spectacles into the optimum position instantly. If you practise not wearable glasses then y'all can settle the view finder fairly tight into the face thereby eliminating a lot of extraneous light. With my spectacles this light can be very distracting. The Hoodman eliminates it.
One word of warning (and I think this has been mentioned elsewhere)....It tin be absolute bu* r to attach and detach the Hoodman without damaging yourself or the camera. I advisedly "worked" on the Hoodman mount with a small-scale precision file and modeling knife until I was able to attach and remove it with ease, yet still firmly in place when fastened.

I used the Nikon eyecups but they would fall off. Found a cheaper ameliorate version thru Boca Photo. They sell all kinds of little parts for Nikon. At that place one piece for my D300s has yet to fall off. Will exist ordering an extra for a long trip just in instance though. I take to use the eyecups because of glasses and detest side light cut to viewfinder etc.

Cheers. The model I bought was the Nikon DK-iii gear up. It was 3 pieces, the DK-3 Prophylactic Eyecup, DK-22 Eyepiece Adapter & Nikon Finder Eyepiece. All lost during a walk.
I remember your thread awhile back and considered the EP-6, but I abandoned the idea. The electric current eyepiece doesn't carp me and I don't wear spectacles.

Every boosted fleck of contact betwixt your face and your camera trunk helps to stabilize your shots. I retrieve of it as an boosted stupor absorber for your camera.
I fold my eye cup down when I'thou storing it in a photographic camera purse, to assistance prevent me from losing information technology.

I too have gotten centre cups from BocaPhoto. They have hundreds of different models. My latest is one with a square opening, that matches the square opening in the camera...lets me run across the corners better. I did have problems with it falling off, simply I plant it each time. Finally, I milled out the plastic retentivity slice that was too weak and replace it with an Al part:
Problem solved...

Ouch. That sounds expensive, simply at least you did non lose the camera (I hope).

Peradventure if I didn't wear spectacles I wouldn't have bothered, even though, fifty-fifty without glasses the Oly feels more comfortable than the Nikon. I use the screen protector and that but keeps my heart too far out.
